RESIDENTIAL CONVEYANCING FEE-EARNER

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Residential Conveyancing Fee-earner to join our busy and expanding Property Department.

Responsible for a varied caseload, which will include freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, re-mortgages, new builds, transfer of equity,  first registrations, equity release and shared ownership cases, the ideal candidate will take full responsibility for each file from instruction to post-completion.

Whilst the position is for residential conveyancing, experience of commercial conveyancing would be an advantage.

This is a permanent, full-time (Mon - Fri inc. 9am - 5pm) role based at our Cringlebar House office

Key duties:

  • Issuing contract packs.
  • Dealing with client and solicitor enquiries.
  • Obtaining Land Registry documentation.
  • Preparing reports on titles.
  • Applying for searches.
  • Taking files through to exchange and completion.
  • Post-Exchange work
  • Liaising with clients, lenders, management companies and other solicitors
  • The ability to understand ledgers and completion statements
  • Drafting and submitting SDLT forms
  • Drafting and making applications to the Land Registry and handling requisitions
  • Answering the telephone
  • Ensuring compliance with professional standards
  • General typing and copying

Personal attributes

  • Minimum 3 year’s experience of running own caseload unsupervised
  • Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Friendly and outgoing personality
  • Outstanding organisational skills
  • An enthusiasm to contribute to our community projects
